You’ll spot this skater from a mile away: tight turns and graceful spins, decked out in the sleekest gear , they glide across the rink like they’re auditioning for Dancing on Ice. Whether they’re genuinely talented or just giving main character energy, we’re here for the drama.
Railing holder
Say hello to the MVPs of caution. These skaters stay glued to the perimeter like their lives depend on it. Sure, they’re not winning any speed contests but their determination to stay upright is inspiring. Bonus points if they manage to shuffle around the entire rink without letting go. Double bonus points if they try to let go, panic and then clutch the rail for dear life again.
Bambi on ice
We’ve all been there. You might be a rookie skater or reuniting with the rink after years away, this is the wobble crew. Their arms flail, legs move in every direction but forward and their facial expressions are somewhere between terror and hilarity. But hey, it’s all part of the fun – especially for their friends filming from the sidelines (we see you).

When flips and pirouettes come out you’ve officially found the Trickster. These skaters are the adrenaline junkies of the rink turning the ice into their personal playground. They might misjudge a landing, but they always pop back up with a smile. Watching them is almost as entertaining as skating yourself. Almost.
